NCDMM Partner Perspectives: Semantic AR for the Digital Thread – Featuring Ethar, Inc.

When

March 5, 2026
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) is pleased to feature Tony Hodgson, Founder and CEO of Ethar, Inc., on March 5 at its Partner Perspectives Webinar, “Semantic AR for the Digital Thread: From Knowledge to Execution of Evidence.”

Hodgson will explore how semantic augmented reality (AR) delivers context-aware, step-by-step guidance at the point of work and automatically captures structured, audit-ready evidence, closing the “last mile” between requirements and verified execution.

Unlike conventional overlays, semantic AR understands the meaning of each instruction and its completion criteria, delivering the right instruction based on asset configuration, tooling, environment, and role. It also records proof of performance through completion states, photos/video, measurements, timestamps, and operator confirmations, that feeds quality workflows, readiness reporting, supply chain traceability, and keeps digital twins aligned with actual outcomes on the floor or in the field.

Hodgson will review how GenAI-enabled search accelerates retrieval of the right procedures and references as well as why semantic AR is essential to converting that information into validated action and trustworthy data.

What you’ll learn:

  • Define Semantic AR and its role in the digital thread
  • Apply a practical end-to-end pattern: find the right information, execute it consistently, capture audit-ready evidence
  • Identify concrete adoption patterns for training, on-the-job performance support, and scalable data capture
